Robin Harnden, M.A., Registered Psychotherapist
Robin Harnden, M.A.,
I believe that every client holds an innate understanding of what they need to heal and grow. I offer a time and place where clients can slow down and connect with this innate knowledge as they explore how past patterns are affecting their current life, and move beyond the impact of unsatisfying and painful experiences. The results can be increased self-understanding, improved relationships, coping with loss, trauma, and life transitions
with resiliency, and feeling empowered to make changes in one’s life.
I enjoy the process of developing judgment-free, compassionate, and collaborative relationships with my clients. I incorporate different approaches to psychotherapy, including psychodynamic and relational, emotion-focused, and somatic and psycho-neurobiological modalities. I am also trained in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. I work at a local counselling agency as well as in private practice.
Some of the issues through which I support clients are:
- depression and anxiety
- traumatic experiences, including sexual, physical, and emotional abuse
- gender and sexuality
- grief and loss
- pregnancy, birth, and postpartum issues
- self-esteem and self-compassion
- parenting, couple, and family issues
Whatever your cultural, religious, socioeconomic, sexual, and gender identities, I respect my clients’ diverse spectrum of differences and would be honoured to work with you. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling, Psychotherapy and Spirituality. I am trained to work with individuals and couples, adults and adolescents. All or a portion of my fee can be covered by most extended health care plans.
