Lindsay Plouffe M.A.

Lindsay holds a Masters of Arts degree from Saint Paul University in Counselling, Psychotherapy, and Spirituality. She completed her degree with a Specialization in Couples Counselling, with her practice focusing on both couples and individuals aged 16 and over.

Lindsay works with a wide-range of individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, life transitions, family of origin issues, emotion regulation, and burnout.  In working with couples Lindsay promotes emotional connection and intimacy between partners. She offers post-affair therapy, communication and conflict resolution skills, and pre-martial counselling.

Lindsay approaches therapy as a collaborative process, recognizing that each individual has the ability within themselves to obtain their therapeutic goals. Her therapeutic style is warm, open, and supportive; meeting her clients wherever they are in their healing journey. Lindsay’s approach to counselling and psychotherapy is mainly grounded in Attachment Theory, Mindfulness-based Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). However, she takes an integrative approach to therapy and will fit her practice to best suit her client's needs.Lindsay’s aim is to foster a safe environment within sessions, and recognizes that a strong therapeutic relationship is essential for enabling an individual to comfortably explore past and present experiences. She believes that every individual is able to shift present patterns that are causing them difficulty, and she focuses on supporting her clients to feel empowered to make changes in their lives.

Lindsay’s practice is supervised by a clinical psychologist; therefore her services are covered by most extended health insurance plans.
