Catherine Henderson
M.S.W., R.S.W.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (qualifying member) with a practice in counselling and psychotherapy for adult individuals and couples. I have experience in treating various issues including grief and loss, life stress, trauma, and family-of-origin issues. I also specialize and work with many clients who experience depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and self-esteem.
My goal in therapy is to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and safe. I am a warm, non-judgmental, and empathetic counsellor who is a good listener and is easy to talk to. Ultimately I see my role as someone who is here as a helper, working to come alongside each client to ease distress, build coping skills, strive towards growth, and help move towards desired change.
My approach to therapy is eclectic, which means I draw on a variety of research based approaches to help create an individually tailored therapeutic plan.
My educational background includes a Master of Arts, Counselling and Spirituality with a concentration in couple counselling from Saint Paul University in Ottawa. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in psychology and classics.
My practice is supervised by Dr. Brenda Saxe Ph.D C.Psych, as such all or a portion of your fees may be covered by insurance.
